The Background
Lakeland Electric, Florida’s third-largest public utility serving over 144,000 customers, needed urgent documentation of a major new power plant construction project amid rapid city growth. The timeline was extremely tight — the project was kicking off in just a couple of days.
Our Approach
We immediately developed a comprehensive documentation plan covering the arrival and installation of massive MAN power plant components shipped from France, as well as ongoing site construction.
Over the course of a full year, we maintained consistent communication and delivered regular visual updates. This allowed Lakeland Electric’s team to stay prepared for public communications, internal reporting, and updates to city leadership.
The Solution
We provided reliable, high-quality visuals throughout the entire project, enabling Lakeland Electric to communicate transparently with customers, peers, and leadership.
As a result, when hurricanes hit, we became their first call for fast-turnaround videos showing restoration efforts. Our quick response during storm events helped showcase their teams’ rapid mobilization and commitment to customers.
The utility now turns to Stateside Media as their go-to partner for any project requiring professional video storytelling — whether planned infrastructure updates or urgent crisis communications.
This engagement highlights our ability to deliver under extreme time pressure while becoming a dependable Partner and Expert in both long-term documentary work and rapid-response crisis storytelling.
